weLCOME TO Rapperswil-Jona

The City of Roses on the shores of Lake Zurich has plenty to offer. Apart from the picturesque Old Town with its medieval castle, Rapperswil-Jona is a splendour of blossoms. More than 20,000 rose bushes are abloom in the city's four rose gardens and other public and private parks. The lakeside promenade and the wooden pedestrian bridge to Hurden provide the city with a very special atmosphere. Not only the historical buildings but also the numerous happenings and cultural events define Rapperswil-Jona's city life. The Christkindlimärt (Christmas market), the Seenachtfest (Lakeside Festival) or the blues 'n' jazz festival are only a few of the attractions hosted in Rapperswil-Jona. Families will appreciate Knies Children's Zoo and aficionados of art and culture can choose from a large number of museums. Those who prefer a shopping tour will find Rapperswil with its various specialty stores and cafés to be an attractive shopping destination. Lake Side Festival
This highlight is not to be missed. From the 7th to 9th of August the town of Rapperswil turns into an open-air festival with music acts, bars and other side events. Tickets available at the tourist information.

HErzroute Switzerland
The Herzroute (heart route) is a cycling route from the Lake of Geneva to the Lake of Constance. Enjoy beautiful landscapes in a slow pace and with the support of the motor of an e-bike.
