ufnau ISLAND

The first written testimony about Ufnau Island can be found in a document dating back to 741. It has been in the possession of Einsiedeln Monastery since Otto the Great (962). Excavations over 50 years ago brought to light the foundation walls of a heathen temple.

Find out about the secrets of the two churches on the island by visiting Hutten's grave. If you walk around the island on the wheelchair-accessible path you will be continually surprised by the views of both shores of Lake Zurich.

Choose between a comprehensive 3-hour tour or a shorter 2-hour tour.

Due to renovation work on the island Ufnau, the island will be closed from 29th August 2016 to (probably) May 2018.
