aathal DINOSAUR MUSEUM

The museum is housed in a former textile factory. In 1992 the company Mineralien- und Fossilienfirma Siber + Siber AG took over a section of the factory and prepared a dinosaur exhibition. The brothers H.J. and E. Siber also secured the excavation rights for the legendary Howe dinosaur quarry in Wyoming, USA. Since then, seven original skeletons together with skulls from known dinosaurs from the Jurassic period have been put on display in the Aathal Dinosaur Museum. A collection that is unparalleled in the world!

Apart from the attention focused on their own excavations, the preparation of the excavated bones and the subject of dinosaurs, other co-inhabitants from prehistoric times also get a look-in: special exhibitions held every year are incorporated into the existing exhibition and widen its scope to include subjects and objects such as flying and sea reptiles, a fossilised whale, a sea crocodile, the largest tortoise in the world, ammonites, trilobites and so on.

Last but not least, visitors have a cafeteria, a museum shop and free parking at their disposal.
