Höcklistein Wyrsch

WINEGROWING AT Höcklistein VINEYARD

Grapes used for making different types of wine of very good quality grow on the vineyard slopes of the Höcklistein estate. Take a walk on the vineyard path through the growing region with a fine view of Rapperswil Castle, Lake Zurich and the Alps.

Nowadays in Rapperswil-Jona, once the largest winegrowing municipality in the canton of St. Gallen, and in addition to Höcklistein, grapes are also grown at Fuchsenberg, Meienberg, Rotenweg, near the Schrennen and at Rüssel. Small is beautiful! The Balmer, a Riesling-Sylvaner grape variety, comes from the smallest vineyard in the municipality on the southern slope in front of the Balm residential home.

Wine tasting sessions can be organised for groups.

Local and regional wines can be purchased at Tourist Information.
